For Immediate Release: Attorney-facilitated online closings
Real estate agents enamored by Federal Title’s new attorney-facilitated online closings
Customers of the D.C.-based title company don’t have to sacrifice quality experience of in-office attorney closing when opting for convenience of remote online closing
Washington, D.C. (November 2, 2020) – Federal Title & Escrow Company, an independently owned title company in the Capital Region with a reputation for using technology to deliver a seamless closing experience, today announced its own attorneys will facilitate NotaryCam closings.
“We have heard from several real estate agents, and they love it,” said veteran settlement attorney Catherine Schmitt, referring to their Federal Title closing experience through the NotaryCam platform. “Their clients feel more comfortable because they can ask their settlement attorney any questions in real-time as if we were at the same closing table.”
Federal Title is no stranger to the world of virtual closings. The company completed its first full and true eClosing at the start of this year and has offered NotaryCam closings since 2013. While the company anticipated demand for remote signings would steadily increase, demand skyrocketed with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now that the company is proactively asking sellers if they prefer to close virtually, roughly nine out of 10 are opting for the NotaryCam option, according to company records. Listing agents are especially thrilled that a title company is anticipating the needs of their clients and are opting to attend virtual closings the majority of the time.
“The virtual closing solution has been an absolute game-changer for my sellers,” said Anslie Stokes, who is a top-producing Realtor in Washington, D.C. and principal of The Stokes Group with McEnearney Associates. “Busy people appreciate not having to spend the time to go into an office and sign the old-fashioned way. Plus my clients still receive the benefit of having a licensed Federal Title attorney in the room.”
Federal Title recognizes that digital closings will not be going away anytime soon, said company founder and CEO Todd Ewing.
“We’ve been challenged to innovate at a pace beyond anything we’ve achieved before, and our team has risen to the challenge,” Ewing said. “We envision a world where any table can be the closing table and our clients can receive the same quality of care no matter where or how they choose to close.”
