Disconcerting trend emerging at closing table
Federal Title unveils campaign to educate public about value of ‘optional’ owner’s title insurance policy – and the inherent risks of waiving coverage
Federal Title & Escrow Company, an independently owned title company in the Capital Region delivering a tech-driven, consumer-friendly closing experience, today announced it will kick off a campaign to educate the public about the ways owner’s title insurance protects their most precious asset – their home.
The “Protect What’s Most Precious” campaign will appear on Federal Title’s social media channels and target Realtors along with consumers. It will highlight true claims stories, provide statistics, address common questions buyers have and offer additional insights from other real estate professionals.
“We’ve received more inquiries lately from buyers looking to waive owner’s title insurance,” said Todd Ewing, founder and CEO of Federal Title. “It’s a concerning trend because these buyers are opening themselves to a mess of headaches down the road. We hope to convince people that owner’s protection really is in the best interest of the consumer.”
Federal Title has long been an advocate for consumer fairness and transparency. It was among the first title companies in the market to publish its fees on a public website and first to offer buyers an instant closing cost REALCredit. Now the company is leading the charge to warn consumers about the inherent risks of waiving owner’s title insurance protection.
