Does The D.C. First-time Homebuyer Program Include G-4 Visa Holders?
Yes. For G-4 visa holders that do not file U.S income taxes, the DC Recorder of Deeds requires a letter from their employer stating the annual salary and that the individual is not required to file income taxes in the United States. It is worth noting that the applicant will also be required to apply for the Homestead Deduction. According to the homestead department, a G-4 visa holder may be considered a DC domiciliary and therefore eligible for the program. At settlement, the buyer is required to complete the homestead application and provide a copy of the front and back of the G4 visa, along with an employment letter verifying employment. As part of settlement, Federal Title & Escrow will collect and submit all of the required application materials to DC for final approval.
